After leaving the oil and gas industry, aged 22, I decided to pursue a different career path. From a very young age, I have always been interested in beauty and therefore decided to study beauty therapy at Aberdeen College.  The course helped me understand the meaning of beauty therapy in greater detail and as a result of this, I realised my; real passion sits within the aesthetics sector; it takes a creative mind and intricate detail to be able to achieve great results as there is so much to learn in this area.

In November 2016, along with the support of a fantastic and talented team, I opened my first salon, The Brow Houz (TBH) which is located on St. Andrew Street in the city centre of Aberdeen. Before long, we realised our client base was growing at pace and our availability was becoming extremely limited. It was then that I decided to expand and moved into the two units adjoining our original salon. This has enabled us to expand  beyond brows and nails and we are now in a fortunate position to offer aesthetics, massage therapy and laser treatments, allowing us the opportunity to showcase our talents.

​One of the main highlights for me and my team is winning the 2018 and 2019 British Hair and Beauty Awards. As well as winning gold for the Best New Business in Scotland we were also awarded bronze for the Top Rated Salon in the Scotland categories. Along with receiving gold for the Best SPMU Artist and Entrepreneur, I am also delighted that I have been awarded Aesthetics Practitioner of 2019. My team and I thrive on results and we’re constantly up-skilling the salon with the latest trends from the beauty industry, so receiving a national award for Marketing (silver) is something that we’re all delighted with.

I love my job, I love being my own boss and my message to you is “dream big, work hard, stay focussed and surround yourself with good people”.
